Julia Ciaccio

Julia's paintings and paper pieces are deeply rooted in color theory and the mixing of materials whose neighboring relationships are used to create a push and pull effect, as well as ignite specific emotional and psychological interpretations. Her pieces can incorporate a number of materials, ranging from oil, acrylic, inks, and watercolors to dry pigments, graphite, pastel and crayons. Her series,  titled "Moons", studies the making of cylindrical mentions with visual inspiration stemming from her backyard garden, neighborhood scenes, Lake Michigan, the Mississippi River, and Farmer's Almanac moon names.
